Public restrooms can create serious safety concerns, as well as generally awkward situations. This design combines the functions of a door lock and kitchen timer to better track restroom stall use as soon as the door is locked. This allows individuals waiting in line to track which stall is in use, and for how long, through a central display board. Individuals can then better predict which stall will open next and line up in front of the stall of their choice, thus eliminating confusion.
Most importantly, this design addresses an important safety issue. For example, a person with a medical condition may lose consciousness in the stall.
