iF PUBLIC VALUE STUDENT AWARD 2016

iF PUBLIC VALUE STUDENT AWARD 2016

Sanitation and hygiene are very important factors that directly affect the health of communities. In many developing countries like India, the lack of toilet facilities contributes to appallingly poor sanitary conditions. People migrate from rural areas to cities in search of jobs and a better life. Often they don't have the means to afford basics like food and shelter, and end up defecating in the open as there are hardly any public toilets. My concept aims at making life better by providing a comfortable squat toilet that is easy to clean and maintain. My aim is to rid India from open defecation.

I feel extremely honored to have received the iF PUBLIC VALUE STUDENT AWARD 2016. As a product designer, I wish to create a positive impact on people's lives. Getting this award encourages me even more to do just that! I would like to thank my family, my mentors and my friends for their unwavering support!
