High-speed trains in the tunnel will accelerate the flow of air in the tunnel. A general wind turbine is unable to control the direction of the wind, which is its shortcoming, and therefore it cannot be under full load operation all the time. However, the tunnel is a relatively closed environment, where the trains pass only in one-way direction, so that the wind speed is higher and the wind direction is relatively fixed. The blades of the turbine will spin through lever principle when the wind generated from a passing high-speed train blows, producing electricity that will be stored to be used.
