For the apartment nomad, self-assemble furniture is a necessity - and a nightmare. ROLE furniture addresses this problem with a single line of instructions: roll to assemble, swap pieces to switch roles. The base form (a stool) is created from a perforated birch slab that wraps around two internal supports. Flip ROLE on its side and add a cushion to create an ottoman. Do the same thing but add a glass pane to create a coffee table. Its flexibility allows for different forms of use in a variety of spaces. All pieces fit under a twin bed, in the average sedan, and in a standard closet. ROLE goes from storage to center piece and back again.
