Medley is a space- and cost-saving, multi-functional combination of sink and shower. A faucet and a sink are fitted to a wall-mounted rail that also features a mirror, a storage unit, a valve and a water filter. The faucet can easily be adjusted to any desired height. To use Medley as a shower, the sink is pulled forwards to release it from the rail and turn it upside down. Once the sink is hooked back into the rail, both faucet and sink are then simply pushed upwards.
Medley is a convincing system solution that saves both space and costs: the sink can be turned upside down and pushed upwards to become a shower. A mirror and a shelf are also integrated into the unit. An intelligent design that takes into account both the global trend of urbanization and its socio-economic effects. However, the shapes of the panel and the detailing of sink still need some more work.
It is truly an honor for me to be one of the receiving winners of this year’s HANSGROHE DESIGN PRIZE 2015 by iF! To have my design acknowledged by such a forward-thinking company as Hansgrohe is incredible. The prize shows me that my design proposals can contribute to future solutions and encourages me to evolve as a designer even more!
