In humanity integration is not necessary for that sighted people have a clear conscience but because we simply need each other – that’s why we became a society. When it comes to social integration of the blind, it mostly focuses on functional integration (urban transport, public buildings etc.) while emotional integration mostly gets little attention. The walls must be dissolved. Most of the sighted still feel embarrassed or sorry when they see a blind person. The blind thank them but don’t want that sorry. Sorry only creates distance.
