See, hear, speak no evil / Social science

See, hear, speak no evil

The idea originated from the allusion “three wise monkeys”. The associated proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” has a positive meaning in Japanese culture. However, I want to express the negative aspect of this allusion. When we turn the other way to problems occurring around the world, we are actually moving further away from the truth. Facing the reality can hurt, that’s guaranteed, but it will let us face the truth behind the problems.
