SOVI / barrier-free shopping

barrier-free shopping in the supermarket

This electronic bracelet allows people with visual impairment to record product information by touching the packaging. SOVI is worn on the wrist like a watch and can be moved to the palm easily so the sensor is placed on the inside of the hand. The inherent infrared reader can thus translate a dot pattern, which is printed on the packaging. The information about name, price, quantity etc. is transmitted via Bluetooth to a smartphone app and further to the ear by headphones. An induction accumulator provides the energy and can be recharged wireless.
No stigma. No barcode. No cable.
