To balance the demand and supply gap, the manufacturing rate of pencils are 15-20 billion pencils annually for which lot of trees are cut, creating imbalance in nature. Currently 20 acres of rainforest and 40 species of animals are killed every minute just to make pencils. To overcome the problem we come up with naturally occurring weed “Lantana”, which are available in abundance in nature. They are soft, strong, light-weight and grows faster than tree wood. Every season it takes 3-4 months to grow from scratch without any human interference. Capable to replace the existing wood for making pencil and steps towards a sustainable environment.
