Rebound is an early rehabilitation bed exercise system that uses elastic bands/tubes for exercise. It aims to prevent muscle wasting in ICU patients by integrating in-bed exercises into the early stages of rehabilitation. Current early rehab solutions are either extremely expensive, too massive or manpower intensive. However by leveraging on the structure of the hospital bed frame, Rebound results in a low cost, extremely portable and easy to use exercise unit. Finally, increasing the physical activity of patients also aids in preventing of psychological conditions such as anxiety, depression and delirium.
