BenDu encourages interaction between Chinese immigrants and their native born counterparts by establishing common ground through food. It is inspired by traditional Chinese lazy Susan dining, which facilitates the sharing of different dishes. There are five compartments in BenDu, four for different dishes and one for the main food. The chopsticks will pop when the user open the cover. With BenDu, Chinese immigrants can share their food and their culture easily during the meal time. Moreover, there is an app which could connect all the users and their friends. Through the app, the story behind the dishes and the recipes can be share around.
