Diarrhoeal disease is the second leading cause of death in children under five years old, and is responsible for killing around 760,000 children every year. One of the most cost effective solution for preventing diarrhea is using chlorine tablet. However, it is difficult for children to distinguish purified water from contaminated one.
‘Life-Leaf’ is a water disinfection tablet for children in developing countries. ‘Life-Leaf’ tablet contains edible blue leaf paper inside. After 4 hours of purification, Chlorine tablets are melt away, and blue leaf floats on purified water signaling children that this water is edible.
