In order to attract people to come to Da-dao-cheng, the elaborate Baroque building becomes a hotel. The main idea of the hotel is to create an area which combines the past and the contemporary. The past means to conserve the features of the historical streets. The contemporary means to make the area fit modern lives.
To make the old building nestle to local lives, there are many yards in the building. That means the combination of the space and the nature. You are in Taipei, an urban city, but you don’t have the distance to the sunshine, air, rain and plants.
