In times of fast change and overuse of technical instruments we produce a lot of trash by constantly buying new stuff and throwing away what is broken or out of fashion. The sTool by its robustness and use of tools to repair things is a piece of furniture against this throw-away society.
The selection of tools fits seamless into the surface and forms the shape of the stool. For the prototype I
glued twelve 2,8mm layers of solid spruce wood.
The system can be adapted for different kinds of furniture. A script would calculate a personalized “toolbox” by a selection of tools and applying rules for material strengths and distances.
