Bombyx Motion / Installation

Bombyx Motion
Bombyx Motion

we were looking for a system, in which, through contraction and tension, a movement starts. this movement should resemble a catarpillar that is defending itself. we wanted to provide different spaces with different qualities, and create an installation in urban space.we developed a grid, in which you can change the amplitudes of the stripes that form the grid. by changing the amplitude, deformation sets in. you can change the appearance, by changing the distances between the single parts of the grid.pedestrians can change the whole appearance, by just moving some small parts of the grid, so they can take part in designing the environment.
