The pressure of decreasing space on Earth is felt everywhere, not only in this world’s Mega-Cities. An alternative can be seen in the Lantern House, which provides refuge and privacy for people despite lack of living space and its increasing cost, and thus is a typical object for the modern city nomad. Its inhabitants can quickly move from one street light to another, assemble and disassemble their house with no more than four hands, within 15 minutes. It displays not only the utilization of light as a source of energy but also the analogy to fire, which has always been seen as a protector against enemies and potential dangers.
