The easy access through light switches and software, that are neither designed sensual nor haptic, leads to an abstract interaction between the user and the lighting. Hence the relationship to lighting is distanced, thus the use of energy.
The concept SQUEEZE adresses this problem through a sensual interaction concept. The regular light switch is replaced by a ball which must be squeezed in order to dimm up the bulb. The light appears according to strength and duration of pressing.
SQUEEZE is not just an attempt to solve a problem through a product design. Further it is a statement that questions interaction design and consumption of lighting
