Drain Faucet / Faucet

Drain Faucet
Drain Faucet

The Drain Faucet was designed in response to two concerns: most people do not wash their hands correctly, and most people use too much water when they wash their hands. The Drain Faucet drains until it becomes empty, at which point it must be turned off to refill. Using the faucet reminds users of their impact on the environment; when faced with the limited resource of water, people endeavor to use a little as possible.

As the form is a radical rethinking of the traditional faucet, additional design ideas include a refill speed that acts as a timer for scrubbing your hands, and a handle that has been moved into the sink for easier access.
