The biggest technical development in the field of surgery today is focused on minimally invasive procedures. With new robot-assisted solutions, surgeons can work more precisely and with a greater degree of flexibility. Nonetheless, the work involves long set-up times and practice as well as huge costs. Based on user studies and in-depth live surgery observation, this project has uncovered requirements and possibilities related to introducing robot benefits into open surgery scenarios in a cost efficient way. Steady Hand enhances the steadiness in surgeons’ movements, provides improved vision and aids in holding tissue in fixed positions.

The design showing form and function and is linked well with ergonomics as it is not just based on styling, but well-thought throughout specification and service design.
