The algae sea harvester addresses an environmental problem by using algae biomass as a future natural resource. By removing abundance growth of algae, nutrients and toxins in the water are reduced, spread of anoxic sediments is prevented, reproduction of fish improves and the tourism industry will also benefit. The algae can then be used for e.g. biofuel production, fertilizers and health care products. The algae harvester is designed to fit into the marine environment, to be a part of the ecosystem, rather than just being applied to it. Hydrogen fuelcell-technology creates a quiet and zero emission solution for marine environments.
