HANSGROHE DESIGN PRIZE 2015

This shower unit is especially designed for elderly people and for people with reduced mobility. It features a seat with integrated back massage function. The shower ring can be moved upwards and downwards, thus providing an easy way to clean the whole body. While having a shower, the user can activate a foot massage function with integrated pumice stones. By selecting the bath mode, the user can enjoy a bath that uses far less water compared to conventional baths.

Water-Saving Shower is a practical, ergonomic and creative approach to provide elderly people and people with reduced mobility with an enjoyable, comfortable and resource-saving shower experience. How much attention to detail has gone into this concept is evidenced, for example, by the pumice stones fitted at the bottom of the unit, which allow a foot massage while taking a shower. The shower screen is particularly inventive. However, it is doubtful whether its functionality will stand up to everyday use.
