The aim of this assignment is to develop and assess the preliminary concept of a new generation excavator, with emphasis on novel mechanisms, cross shapes, human-machine interfaces and approaches what will maximise energy recovery from wasted kinetic and potential energy flows during the digging cycles. Productivity: Ability to dig a hole of 8m x 5m x 5m minimum.Efficiency: Ability to proceed continuously to the excavation in a maximum of 40h (for the specific hole dimensions) with 30% less fuel consumption than a traditional excavator.Mobility: The product must be able to manoeuvre controllably over rough ground with a max speed of 5km/h.
