Worm Lamp / Lighting

Worm Lamp
Worm Lamp

This project aims at exploring the possibilities of co-designing between designers and organisms. First, this project explored common traits and interspecific interactions of organisms. Then, this project further classified design cases and discovered possible developments and thinking through levels of creativity. Lastly, this project uncovered the new design process of co-creating with organisms.

Worm Lamp is co-designed by designer and worms (Zophobas atratus Fab). Through chewing behaviors of worms, the simple Styrofoam shade transformed into a rich lighting effect.
