Asbestos is a mineral fiber which was extensively used for decades in architecture and industry. By now the use of asbestos is widely prohibited because of its hazardous characteristics. Still this material can be found in many buildings which have to be reconstructed. The workers tasked with removing asbestos are exposed to dangers even when wearing protective gear. With this concept workers are kept away from the dangers by using a robot. Through the force of cavitation the astbestos containing materials are disintegrated and the asbestos fibres removed with water. The water is recycled and the asbestos packaged for safe disposal.
