Pull-Pull / Toilet Aid

Discipline: Product

Discipline: Product

The proposition of “Pull-Pull” is “Giving more privacy to primary school children”. Owing to the poor sanitation facilities in most of the developing countries, girls sometimes even have to share the toilets with boys and other school staff; as a result, they are afraid to use the toilet, which could lead to a series of physical and psychological problems. The students only need to pull the handle of “Pull-Pull”, which is fixed above the toilet, and a private space will be available immediately. Also, “Pull-Pull” could allow more children to use one large squatting toilet at the same time.

A cheap and local solution to issues of privacy for under-resourced schools. A very promising concept although the mechanism and mounting needs better explanation and it seems as though the product is paper, which may be problematic in terms of hygiene and longevity.
