Twirler / Watch

We are living in an ever faster moving world, trying to manage our time as efficiently as we can. Feeling chased by effectiveness and optimization, we want to accomplish an increasing amount of tasks as quickly as possible, but ironically, our time keeps slipping away. This watch can be interpreted as an allegory to this paradox. Its indices are printed on two transparent plastic slices that have been moved outward from the centre of the dial and angled at 30°. This creates the impression that time seems to literally “slip from the hands”. Twirler makes us recollect the value of time, giving us a reminder to consciously pause for a moment.
