Metal to Music / Furniture

Metal to Music
Metal to Music

The couples seating is a furniture piece that takes inspiration from music and harmonic series, and represents that music to provide an auditory experience. It is designed to accommodate one couple on either side, while engaging them with music, and providing them privacy with its form. Once a person sits on the seat, music is produced. The volume and length of the notes depends upon the amount of pressure applied. The furniture employs the mechanism of a glockenspiel to produce music, and tries to simplify our lives by creating something that hopefully gives us time to interact with things and each other more on a physical level.
