Walkie Joie / public walker

Walkie Joie
Walkie Joie

In some case, using elderly walkers makes feel different with others no handicap. This tends to limit their cultural, social and informal activities. This project seeks to improve the design of walkers in public spaces by focusing on the spatial features of a walker and the interaction between users and objects in galleries, parks and shopping centres. The ‘Walkie Joie’ would embrace the visitor’s needs whether they have the mobility difficulty or not. It not only helps alleviate the mobility difficulties of the elderly but also releases emotional pressure by sharing its same structure with the other visitors.
