The TOOL CHAIR allows - maybe even encourages - dynamic seating. It enables the user to use various postures and positions. A bent plate on the side offers support and can be used as both armrest or backrest and also as a shelf. With its narrow seat, the TOOL CHAIR cultivates the habit of sitting on the edge of the chair. With its rounded sides and edges, it does not prescribe a sitting posture and allows the user to move in any direction. Questioning established typologies and standards is fundamental in my work as a designer. It is not just about making new and pleasant things, but rather about driving evolution forward.

This project is well thought through. The designer has analyzed the needs of the target audience and has created the chair with a new functionality. There is a good choice of material and technology with respect to series production. It has an economic potential.
Jury Statement
It is a great honor to be among the chosen ones and it is a satisfying feeling when a project is acknowledged with such a prestigious award by such a big and famous jury. I am looking forward to the award ceremony in Hamburg.
