Maru / Flash Disk

Maru
Maru

Not removing the flash disks safely causes data loss and harms the flash disks. Maru aims to degrade the current multi step, outdated and sometimes annoying ‘removing ritual’ to a single and clear ‘physical’ button. The hole on Maru is both for feedback by LED and attaching it to a key ring. When it is plugged in to a computer, the hole lights red showing that Maru is establishing connection. It turns to green when it is ready to use, and fades during transitions. After the usage, user pushes the eject button and hole lights red again for a moment, showing it is ending the connection. When LED turns off user can take out the stick safely.
