While a long candle is burning, the melted wax falls down to the holder, stacking and shaping there, like a burl, ugly and hard to clean up. Phoenix, a novel candle holder inspired by the sandglass, aims to solve the problems.
The upper half of Phoenix can gather the melted wax of a candle and make it flow through the candle’s hallow inside to the lower half. After some candles being burned, the stacked and cooled wax becomes a cup-shaped candle. Sandglass implies time is passing; dripping wax means the same. However, once Phoenix was turned upside down and lighted up, it gives hopes that the cradle-to-cradle belief has been accomplished.
