Winter is a season which has high risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in Taiwan. Gas burning in water heater incompletely makes people coma and death unconsciously because of excessive carbon monoxide. It makes many people die every year especially in the high residents density area such as student sublet suite or old crowded department without ventilation equipment.

Window of life is a concept combines carbon monoxide detector with the window configured with electromagnetic locks. When concentration of carbon monoxide approaches the critical value the power will cut down automatically to open the safe layer of window for air circulation.
