Guide Outlet

iF concept design award 2014

The Guide Outlet uses haptic and visual aids to show the user how to easily fit a plug into the outlet. First, there is a furrow into which the cord is fed and indicates the direction in which a plug has to go. This is also useful as an aid to the blind because they can touch and then feel how the plug has to be plugged in. There is also green fluorescent material in a rectangular shape used around the furrow to make it easy to see at night and lets the user know how to put the plug into the outlet. Regardless of the user’s disability, visibility or space restrictions, the Guide Outlet is a useful addition to any home.

I am so happy to win this award. I want to move forward as a designer to help solve more design problems for more people.
