The box cutter is popular but it has a fatal flaw of dangerousness. The most dangerous situations occur when the knife slips and lead breaks and they occur in an instant. So I tried to prevent users from getting a cut and lead from flying away with a protective cap by using a reflex of spring. In addition to this, a protective cap protects our hands by keeping a distance with a lead and it is safer as we do not need to pull and push a lead except when we should replace and break a lead. The cap is designed as a hexagon considering contact surface with a paper, area where a knife can be used and an angle at which users grasp a knife.
