The existing filtering device that purifies contaminated or sea water consumes too much physical energy because the user has to suck in the water using his/her own mouth. It is also inconvenient to carry. Life Straw for Maritime Distress addressed these disadvantages by enabling the water to be purified with the user’s hand, and by converting water to make it drinkable.
