The kerFchair is a flat pack furniture.
It is CNC machined out of board of birch wood.
To avoid the complex process of wood lamination, a different technique was applied.
By using the kerfing technique, it was able to achieve the ability to bend flat cutout, without the need to use the
Complex process of lamination.
A good solution was needed to keep the bending form, it was decided to utilize the structure and give it another function as a bending mold to the sitting base. The structure is made out of four parts, once connected they perform as a bending tool of the base of the chair, keeping it bend and adds to the structural integrity.
