In Taiwan, many young aboriginal people leave their home communities in rural areas seeking job opportunities in cities, posing a threat to the local development and their cultural survival. To create local business opportunities, the design concept proposes a series of distinctive stools with the locally available materials (draft wood & ramie) and traditional weaving craft. Through the combination of craft and industrial methods of production, we manage to develop a new product line in a sustainable and commercially viable way.
