This design extensively refers to Chinese cultural window grille, of which the concept “prosperity and peace” was integrated into the design with two objects: peony (owing to its attributes) and glass (owing to homophone). The hollow-out pattern is to make the light run through the chair surface, creating changes in light and shadow, which becomes part of the picture of the house. Through the curvy changes of lines, the chair leg it not only conveys the graphical idea of the peony and glass but strengthens its structure. This design has anticipated to bring its owner “prosperity” and “peace”.
