one of the biggest human rights abuses has been accepted and kept quiet: violence against women. Violence against women cuts across class, culture and regional differences. We live in a society where all these forms of violence against women are accepted as the norm: domestic violence, rape, pornography, forced prostitution, the feminization of poverty are all manifestations of the same problem. The sexual exploitation of women, and even rape are still not considered a human rights violation. That said; women in Asia still experience serious violations: few countries in the region have adequate laws to protect women against domestic violence
