Decreasing water resources is a worldwide problem and access to clean water is costly for every household, especially in South America where people tend to use inefficient sanitary systems and take showers more than once a day due to the warm climate. 'Gris' is a low-cost water-saving system that collects all the water during a shower and can reuse it for flushing the toilet, cleaning the house and other washing activities. This can save at least 72 liters of water/person/day in an average household, which means at least 3.5 billion liters of water saved per day in such highly populated countries as Colombia (50 million inhabitants).
When I first read the notification about the results I was incredibly excited because this proves that the issue of decreasing potable water resources is getting more attention in the world and is taken seriously by organizations like yours. Thank you so much for this great award!
