YAUCHI / Kitchen knife

Discipline: Product

Discipline: Product

Mr.Yauchi is the maestro in cutlery sharpening and finishing in Sakai, a region known for producing high quality cutleries. His elaborate works are condensed into this compact kitchen knife, such as the glittering hairline finish created by a wooden grind whirl used for traditional Japanese cutleries. The octagonal grip was inspired from sashimi knife, which offers adequate feedback to hand for delicate handling, yet the head is carved round for fingers to settle gently for various positions of holding. Those two counter expressions are divided by the diagonal contour, emphasizing the contrast and characterizing the design of this product.
