embark. / urn design

embark.
embark.

embark. is an urn that is 3D-printed out of PVA water-soluble material. This urn is designed with users who are experiencing the death of a child in mind.

embark. would float on the surface of the water for a period of time before dissolving and releasing the cremated remains into the water. This would allow the users to have a controlled experience of “sending-off” their child and to gain a sense acceptance, as compared to the conventional method of scattering the ashes by hand, in which the experience differs greatly based on water conditions.
