In order to be machine-washable, wool requires an antifelt finish. For decades wool has been submitted to a chlorine-based finishing process. This method - due to the use of chlorine and the AOX emissions - is not sustainable. The newly developed EXP process does not need any chlorine and yet satisfies the strictest washing standards (5x5A). EXP 4.0 finish even allows the use of tumblers. The benefits of wool are preserved due to this novative finish. EXP is worldwide the only wool finishing process that satisfies the GOTS and Bluesign criteria. Schoeller supplies EXP fibers and yarns. EXP has been distinguished several times in 2012.
