Pop-top can is popular nowadays because you can open it by lifting a ring, without using a can opening. However, the sharp edge of the removed top is often a source of cuts and bleeding. If not disposed properly, little children who happen to be playing with the trashcan may be hurt as well.
This design places a thin ring of polylactide (PLA) film right at the edge of the can top. As the top is pulled open, the thin film would automatically wrap around the sharp edge to provide a shield against harms.
PLA thin film is biodegradable and environmental friendly
