The first goal of the project was to assign an unusual application for a material. After some research we decided to use cork, which we consider to be an underutilized raw material, used mainly for the production of wine stoppers. Beside its beauty, it`s rarely used with an aesthetic purpose on industrial products. This renewable and recyclable material is light, soft and an acoustic insulator, which led us combine their physical and visual properties in a surprising headphone project. The cork, used for our speakers' shell isolates the external sound much better than plastic, considerably improving the sound experience. http://goo.gl/9jzWZ
