This work deals with the question to what extent stress factors have an effect on the design process. With the help of selfexperimentation this question was further examined. By continuous monitoring through various sensors and devices, a surveillance camera, screenshots and questionnaires, the subject was monitored and analyzed. The analysis shows that the investigated factors have no positive effect on the design process, the design artefact is not significantly better than under normal conditions. Consequence of the analysis is a manifesto, entitled Slow
Design, that critizises the performance orientation of today‘s society.
