The comic illustrates the state of river Mithi in Mumbai. Besides the known fact that it is polluted, encroachment has been a major reason for its deterioration. I have highlighted the development projects that have been sabotaging the river and the ignorance and indifference of the citizens of Mumbai. The objective is to spread awareness and instill people with a sense of belonging and ownership towards the river. I chose the medium of comic story telling because transforming raw data into stories puts a human element into it, provides a context, enables showing relationship between ideas and permits information to be imprinted into memory.
