In a theoretic examination of memory and tradition my master thesis explores phenomena of the Ore Mountains combined with questions of cultural studies.
Tradition can make you aware of your cultural roots. Essential is the insight that memory is not about truth, for it is more important how people deal with commemoration. Based on a narrative context I created experimental materials out of wood veneer and leather with screen printing, dyeing, embroidery and deforming. The materials are affected by their regional roots and show my ambition to create something new with the cultural heritage of my homeland.
