best before... / yogurt cup

best before...
best before...

Best before... is a double-layered yogurt cup which consists of PLA synthetic foil. The cup is stabilized by compressed air located in between the two layers. Its purpose is to visualize the genuine expiry date and reduce the waste of not yet spoiled food. The visualization occurs through the dissolving process of the inner foil when the yogurt actually starts to spoil. Thereby the yogurt reaches the outer foil and causes a deformation of the initial shape. PLA foil is produced out of lactid acid and can corrode by itself. Best before... is degradable and should be disposed in an organic waste bin.
