Ocean Cleaner / Ocean Cleaner Concept Ship

Ocean Cleaner
Ocean Cleaner

The pollution of the oceans by plastic particles is an always growing problem for which there is no solution yet. The "Ocean Cleaner" is a concept-ship for cleaning the sea. It is an autonomous ship powered by solar cells and the motion of the waves. The plastic particles are collected at the front with conveyor belts. The conveyor belts consist of a net which is permeable to water, but at the same time separates the particles. The particles are removed, transported to the middle, compressed and stored in the ship until the hold is full. Subsequently the compressed bales are collected by an special ship and recycled on land.
